Custom Design Service
Design
Every stained glass piece begins with a conversation. During your personal design consultation, you'll sit down with one of our experienced stained glass artists to discuss your ideas, inspirations, and the space where your new window or door will be installed. Together, we'll explore photographs, architectural styles, color palettes, and examples of previous work to discover the design direction that best reflects your vision. Whether you already have a clear concept or are starting with only a few ideas, we'll help transform your thoughts into a beautiful, cohesive design.
As your ideas take shape, our artist will create rough hand-drawn sketches that capture the overall composition, flow, and character of your future stained glass masterpiece. These preliminary drawings allow you to provide feedback, refine details, and make adjustments before the final pattern is created. This collaborative design process ensures that every custom window or door is truly one of a kind—a handcrafted work of art that reflects your personal style while complementing the architecture of your home, church, or business.
Photoshop Mockups
Once the initial concept has been approved, we transform the hand-drawn sketches into detailed full-color digital mockups. Using professional design software such as Adobe Photoshop and other visualization tools, we create realistic renderings that showcase the stained glass with carefully selected colors, textures, and glass styles. These mockups allow you to see how the finished piece will look long before construction begins, making it easier to visualize the balance of color, light, and overall composition.
During this stage, you'll have the opportunity to review every aspect of the design and request refinements until it perfectly matches your vision. We can experiment with different glass colors, decorative textures, bevels, and artistic details while preserving the integrity of the overall design. By finalizing the artwork digitally before any glass is cut, we ensure that you have complete confidence in the finished project, creating a seamless transition from concept to handcrafted stained glass masterpiece.
CAD Drawings, Color Options and Printouts
After the design and colors have been approved, the artwork is recreated in a professional CAD (Computer-Aided Design) program where every line, curve, and glass piece is drawn to its exact finished dimensions. This stage ensures complete accuracy by establishing precise measurements, lead line widths, glass shapes, and the final color selections for each individual piece of glass. Every detail is carefully reviewed to ensure the design is both visually stunning and structurally sound before fabrication begins.
Once the CAD drawing is finalized, full-size patterns are printed at a true 1:1 scale to serve as the master templates throughout the construction process. These exact-scale prints are used to cut every piece of glass with precision, maintain proper alignment of the lead or copper foil, and verify that the finished window or door matches the approved design perfectly. This meticulous planning process allows our artisans to build each stained glass creation with exceptional accuracy, consistency, and craftsmanship, ensuring the finished piece faithfully reflects the vision approved by the client.
